Back up your files online for free

Because you never know when disaster will strike, it's vital to regularly back up your important data. Storing files in the cloud will let you access them from anywhere, and there are plenty of excellent free and paid-for storage services available.

SkyDrive, Microsoft's online storage site (http://skydrive.live.com), offers 25GB for free and has a 50MB per file limit, making it ideal for storing smaller items, such as photos and documents.

ADrive (www.adrive.com) gives you a generous 50GB of free online storage, although certain features, such as the Desktop client and FTP support, are only available to premium users.

If you only want to back up (and optionally share) your most important files, you should consider getting a Dropbox account (www.dropbox.com). This initially gives 2GB of free storage but you can increase this by performing certain tasks, such as referring friends.
